November Climate Summary for Minnesota

Mean November temperatures were considerably colder than normal. In fact for many Minnesota communities it was one of the coldest Novembers this century. Standard deviations for the monthly mean are typically 4 degrees F, and the negative temperature deviations for November of 1996 were commonly 2 to 2.5 times that value. Other cold Novembers have been 1985, 1959, 1955, 1911 and 1896. Note that the record coldest November for most Minnesota communities was either 1985 or 1896 depending on the length of their climate record.
