Cold August Weekend (August 16-17, 1997)
The cold temperature trend in Minnesota continued (in spades)
over the weekend of August 16-17, 1997.

The high temperature at Itasca State Park on Saturday
was only 57 degrees F, a new cold maximum temperature
record for August 16th, beating the old record cold
daytime high of 60 degree F in 1924.

On Sunday (August 17th) cold afternoon high temperatures
were the order of the day all over Minnesota.  Listed
below find the locations reporting new record cold 
maximum temperatures for August 17th, along with the
old record for the date....
