Heavy Rains Fall on South Central Minnesota - August 14-15, 1997
Torrential rains fell across portions of Rice, Steele, and Waseca counties during the evening hours of August 14 and the early morning hours of August 15. The largest reported rainfall total was 8.2 inches near Medford in Steele County.
Radar-based precipitation estimates were in close agreement with ground-based data gathered by the Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the National Weather Service.
