  • April 15th ... highest temperature ever measured in Minnesota for the date -  93 F measured at Faribault
  • April 15th ... earliest ever 90 F tempeatures for the state of Minnesota
  • April 15th ... Twin Cities reading of 91 F is the earliest 90 F or higher temperature ever in the spring
  • April 15th ... Twin Cities dew point of 61 F ties the record for the date
  • April 16th ... Twin Cities dew point of 62 F ties the record for the date

AT 303 PM...LA CROSSE WISCONSIN REPORTED A TEMPERATURE OF 
90 DEGREES. THIS BREAKS THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 84 DEGREES SET BACK 
ON THIS DATE IN 1896. 

THIS 90 DEGREE READING IS ONLY THE 10TH TIME SINCE 1873 THAT THE 
TEMPERATURE HAS CLIMBED INTO THE 90S IN APRIL AT LA CROSSE. 
IT WAS FIRST TIME SINCE APRIL 6, 1991 THAT THE TEMPERATURE HAD 
REACHED AT LEAST 90 DEGREES IN APRIL AT LA CROSSE. ALSO...THIS WAS 
THE 3RD LATEST DATE FOR EARLIEST 90 DEGREE READING AT LA CROSSE.

PM...ROCHESTER MINNESOTA REPORTED A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 87 DEGREES. 
THIS BREAKS THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 80 DEGREES SET BACK ON THIS DATE 
IN 1942.

TEMPERATURES NEVER REALLY COOLED DOWN ALL THAT MUCH EARLY THIS 
MORNING. THEY ARE ALSO NOT EXPECTED TO DROP THAT MUCH BEFORE 
MIDNIGHT...SO THE RECORD HIGH MINIMUMS IN BOTH SIOUX FALLS AND SIOUX 
CITY HAVE BEEN BROKEN. THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF ONLY 63 AT 310 AM CDT 
IN SIOUX FALLS BROKE THE RECORD OF 57...SET BACK IN 1957. THE LOW 
TEMPERATURE OF ONLY 64 AT 253 AM CDT IN SIOUX CITY BROKE THE RECORD 
OF 58...SET BACK IN 1976.

THE WARM SOUTH WIND ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON PUSHED 
HIGH TEMPERATURES INTO THE MID 80S TO MID 90S. 
SIOUX CITY IOWA WAS ONE OF THE WARMEST PLACES...REACHING 96 DEGREES 
AT 516 PM CDT. THIS BROKE THE RECORD HIGH OF 85 SET BACK IN 1985. 

THE HIGH PEAKED OUT AT 91 DEGREES AT RADIO STATION KICD SPENCER 
IOWA...BREAKING THE RECORD OF 82 SET BACK IN 1977.
IN VERMILLION SOUTH DAKOTA...THE TEMPERATURE HAD REACHED 90 DEGREES 
BY 330 PM. THIS BROKE THE RECORD HIGH OF 87 SET BACK IN 1954.

THE THERMOMETER AT THE SIOUX FALLS NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TOPPED 
OUT AT 89 DEGREES AT 320 PM CDT...SMASHING THE RECORD HIGH OF 85 SET 
WAY BACK IN 1898.

WIDESPREAD ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST. ROCHESTER MINNESOTA REPORTED A HIGH 
TEMPERATURE OF 84 DEGREES THROUGH 430 PM THIS AFTERNOON. THIS TIES 
THE PREVIOUS RECORD SET ON THIS DATE IN 1977. IF THE RECORD IS 
BROKEN DURING THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON...ANOTHER RECORD REPORT

REACHED 87 DEGREES AT AROUND 420 PM THIS AFTERNOON...WHICH BREAKS THE 
PREVIOUS RECORD OF 80 SET IN 1981. 
THE TEMPERATURE AT HECTOR AIRPORT IN FARGO REACHED 89 DEGREES AT 140
PM...BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 82 DEGREES WHICH WAS LAST SET
