Snowstorm: April 7, 2003
A storm brought a return to winter and some much needed moisture to the far southern tier counties of Minnesota. The snow was the heaviest along the Iowa border with some places receiving a foot of heavy wet snow. Some of the largest totals were 13 inches in the Albert Lea area with 12 inches at Fairmont, Blue Earth and Winnebago. There was a sharp cutoff to the north with St. Peter and Springfield only seeing a trace of snowfall. Iowa also picked up snow as well with 11 inches at Mason City. The clear skies on the day after the storm provided a nice view of where the snow fell on this visible satellite image.
