Snowfall
February 6, 2007
A speedy Alberta Clipper dived to the southeast and dropped some significant snows
(for this snow season) across central and southern Minnesota on February 6. Some areas had nearly bare ground before the snow, especially in the Willmar and Alexandria area. The snow began shortly before daybreak in the Twin Cities and visibilities were down to 3/4 of a mile at times during the morning rush hour. By early afternoon the snow had moved into Iowa and Wisconsin. The most snow fell in a line from Breckenridge in Wilkin County to Faribault in Rice County. Some four to six inch totals were in this area. A more general one to three inches fell on either side of this line including the Twin Cities. The most snow was seven inches at Mantorville in Dodge County.
Listed below are snowfall totals courtesy the National Weather Service. The National Weather Service in Chanhassen also posted a web article about the February 6 2007 snow event.
