More Snow - December 4, 2007
On Tuesday, December 4th a weak, but moisture-laden Alberta Clipper brought another round of snow for Minnesota, deepening the snow cover in about a 100 mile band from Grand Forks through the Twin Cities. Snowfall amounts in this band were from 3 to 7 inches. Lake enhanced snow also fell over the Duluth area with the highest total being 16.8 inches in West Duluth.
Snow depths are now rougly 8 to 15 inches from the Twin Cities north to the Canadian border and from 2 to 8 inches south of the Twin Cities. An early and enduring snow cover has been rare in Minnesota recently. The last time the state was broadly covered by this
much snow, this early in the winter, was late-November and early-December of 1996.
