More Heavy Snow in Minnesota - November 29-30, 2010
November ends with one last winter storm for the state.
The active weather pattern continued with another winter storm for Minnesota. The snow began over western Minnesota and rain began over eastern Minnesota during the day on November 29th. The rain changed to snow over east central Minnesota in the early morning hours of the 30th. The main axis of the heavy snow from this system was from southwest from around Redwood Falls, northward through western Stearns County, then to northern Minnesota. Some of the heaviest snow totals found were 13.5 inches near Bruno in Pine County, 11 inches near Cook in St. Louis County, and 10 inches at Morgan in Redwood County. Strong winds caused considerable blowing and drifting with drifts 5 feet deep reported at Springfield in Brown County. The event was mostly a rain storm over southeastern Minnesota, with the Twin Cities seeing .59 inches of rain on the 29th.
