With a maximum temperature of 69 degrees on September 7, the streak of 70 degree maximum temperatures ended in the Twin Cities that began back on May 30. For 100 consecutive days the mercury climbed to 70 or higher. This is the third longest streak on record. The record is 102 days set in both 1988 and 2002. The year with the shortest stretch of consecutive 70's? That award goes to 1904 with only 13 days in a row with 70 or greater.
