Warm and Humid Early November 2001

Many heating systems took a break in Minnesota for the first half of November. A large dome of high pressure caused the jet stream to shove far north into Canada. This cut Minnesota off from any arctic air and let warm, muggy air in. Many maximum and minimum temperatures were broken during the first half of November. In the Twin Cities, November 1-15, 2001 was the warmest half of November in the last 110 years. On November 14, dew points across the state were in the 50's and low 60's, more typical of early June weather. For details of the warm weather see the links below.
